Credits Explained
Credits are the unit used in Solvi to account for data processing. Every subscription plan includes a yearly quota of credits, and credits are deducted as imagery is uploaded and advanced analytics are run. This section explains what credits represent, how they are consumed, and how different workflows affect credit usage.
What a Credit Represents
Credits are used to pay for two main types of processing:
- Uploads with standard analytics
- Advanced analytics using PlantAI
The number of credits deducted depends on the type of processing, the subscription plan, and—in the case of PlantAI—the size of the processed area.
Credits for Standard Uploads
A standard upload includes all analytics except PlantAI detections. This covers outputs such as vegetation indices, plant health maps, height calculations, canopy cover, and similar layers.
Credits are deducted per upload, and the cost depends on the subscription plan:
- Starter plan: 25 credits per upload
- Professional plan: 20 credits per upload
- Enterprise plan: 15 credits per upload
An upload is defined as either:
- A stitched orhtomosaic (in GeoTIFF format)
- A set of up to 1,500 raw image captures (not individual images). This distinction is important for multispectral cameras.
For RGB cameras, one image usually equals one capture. For multispectral cameras, one capture consists of multiple images (one per band). For example, a multispectral camera with four bands produces four images per capture, meaning one upload can include up to 6,000 images.
If more than 1,500 captures are uploaded at once, the dataset counts as multiple uploads:
- 1–1,500 captures → 1 upload
- 1,501–3,000 captures → 2 uploads
- 3,001–4,500 captures → 3 uploads and so on, with credits deducted accordingly.
Credits for PlantAI Processing
When using the PlantAI tool for plant counts, counts with plant-level data, or weed detection, credits are deducted based on area.
The cost depends on:
- The type of PlantAI detection (basic counts, plant-level data, or weed detection)
- The processed area in hectares
- The subscription plan
Each plan has a different price per hectare, with higher-tier plans offering lower per-hectare costs.
There is a minimum charge of 30 credits for any PlantAI detection. This means that even if only a small area is processed (for example, 1 hectare), at least 30 credits will be deducted. This minimum charge includes all other analytics for that dataset.
Combining Uploads and PlantAI Costs
If PlantAI is used on a dataset, the PlantAI credit charge replaces the standard upload charge. In other words, you do not pay separately for the upload and for PlantAI—the PlantAI charge already includes standard analytics.
For example:
- Uploading a field trial and running PlantAI basic counts on 10 hectares will only deduct credits based on the PlantAI area pricing
- Standard analytics such as vegetation indices and canopy cover are included in that cost
Credit Renewal and Additional Credits
Credits included in a subscription plan are renewed annually at the start of each billing period. Any unused credits from the yearly quota do not carry over.
Additional credits can be purchased at any time. These extra credits are valid for two years and automatically roll over into the next billing period if unused.
This allows users to handle peak processing periods without needing to upgrade their subscription plan.
